Concord, New Hampshire, post-hardcore powerhouse Sink With Me has unleashed their hard hitting new single “My Own Doomsday,” out Friday, September 5. Pairing raw aggression with unflinching honesty, the track dives deep into vocalist Evan Middleton’s past, reflecting on the fallout of growing up in a fractured home.
“This song is me touching on a time of my adolescence where my mom got me and my siblings away from my abusive father,” Middleton shares. “I wrote about the feelings I felt when he first left our life, how as I got older I felt like there were big chunks of my younger life I can’t remember and have blocked out from the things I suffered at my father’s hands, and watched him do to my mother. I truly felt like when he was home I lived my own doomsday every day.”
Middleton explains that the song serves as both catharsis and realization. “He ruined my sense of self, my childhood, my innocence. I always felt like I was just a mistake in his life, and I grew up always wondering why I wasn’t good enough, always trying to find myself. It wasn’t until I was older and knew more that I realized I was better off without my father, and that I only thought I missed him.”
Fans of Underoath, Silverstein, Defeater, and Counterparts will find familiar intensity in “My Own Doomsday,” but Sink With Me carves their own space with a balance of searing heaviness and melodic introspection. The single arrives alongside a gripping music video that underscores the track’s emotional weight.
Formed in 2020, Sink With Me has quickly risen from New England’s underground scene with their mix of crushing instrumentals, powerful drumming, and a dynamic blend of clean and screamed vocals. Their music unpacks themes of trauma, resilience, and healing, resonating with listeners through its blend of vulnerability and ferocity. With a dedicated following across the Northeast and beyond, the band’s DIY ethic and relentless energy have marked them as one of the region’s most promising acts.
