Rising phenom MICO has made a comeback with his new release, “Ever After” featuring eaJ. The Filipino-Canadian artist, known for his sharp songwriting and his melodies filled with many different genres, is making an impact in the alt-punk scene.

MICO mentions that writing this song did not fit the story or vibe of his 2024 EP, Internet hometown hero, but it was too good to leave behind. “It’s one of the catchiest songs I think I’ve ever written,” says MICO. “We finished all the lyrics in about 40 minutes, and I’m excited to finally have it out in the world after so long.”

“Ever After” plays with many fun analogies, comparing a broken relationship to a bad plot of a romcom, a look into his own failed relationships and his love of “hate-watching” corny movies while in them. He explains it as, “It’s kind of an anti-love anthem about accepting that things should’ve ended a while ago, and breaking the news to someone that’s refusing to accept it.”

MICO released “Ever After” after the release of his EP Internet hometown hero in May and before his massive “Internet hometown hero World Tour.” Kicking off this fall, the global tour will span more than 50+shows across North America, Europe, and the U.K., with over half of the dates already sold out.
