Heavy metal history got louder today as Judas Priest and Ozzy Osbourne joined forces for a powerful new take on Black Sabbath’s classic “War Pigs.” The track, out now via Sony Music, is a rallying cry for a cause close to the hearts of both icons. All profits from streams, downloads, and physical sales will be donated to The Glenn Tipton Parkinson’s Foundation and Cure Parkinson’s.
What began as a one off tribute has turned into something monumental. Judas Priest originally set out to honor Ozzy and Black Sabbath after missing the Aston Villa hometown show due to prior commitments. But the idea quickly evolved. When the band suggested turning the tribute into a charity single, Ozzy and Sharon gave their full support.
The result is a blistering, deeply emotive version of “War Pigs,” driven by Glenn Tipton’s unmistakable guitar work, recorded despite his own battle with Parkinson’s, and searing, alternating vocals from Rob Halford and Ozzy Osbourne. The recording captures everything that made the genre revolutionary: ferocity, drama, and heart.
This release is a symbol of solidarity and fight. For fans, it’s the kind of collaboration that’s been dreamed about for decades; for the Parkinson’s community, it’s a show of unwavering support from two of the most enduring names in music.
“War Pigs – Charity Version” is available now on all major streaming platforms and physical formats.
