Lamb of God is back with “Sepsis,” a raw, unrelenting new single out now via Epic Records. It is the first original music from the Grammy Award-nominated metal icons since their 2022 album, Omens. Stream the track and watch the official video now at lamb-of-god.com.
Produced by longtime collaborator Josh Wilbur, “Sepsis” hits with three and a half minutes of pure, churning energy. Its official video, directed by Gianfranco Svagelj, strips everything down to a moody Richmond backdrop and lofi grit, echoing the underground energy that first fueled the band.
“‘Sepsis’ is a celebration of the underground local bands here in Richmond that shaped who we were,” guitarist Mark Morton explains. “Groups like Breadwinner, Sliang Laos, and Ladyfinger never broke big outside the city, but they were everything to us when we started Burn the Priest. This track draws a straight line back to those basement days when we were just trying to make something brutal and real.”
2025 has been a milestone year for Lamb of God. They marked the 25th anniversary of their discography, headlined the sold out “Back to the Beginning” concert in Richmond, dropped a crushing cover of Black Sabbath’s “Children of the Grave,” and hit major festivals including Inkcarceration and Louder Than Life. They also played a historic headlining show at Richmond’s new Allianz Amphitheater during its opening season.
The band will close out the year with a heavy run of appearances, including Aftershock Festival, AMMA Championship Fest, and their own Headbangers Boat cruise, a four day floating metal takeover from Miami to Cozumel October 31 to November 4. The cruise lineup features Clutch, Kublai Khan TX, Power Trip, Obituary, DevilDriver, Fear Factory, The Black Dahlia Murder, The Exploited, Crowbar, Nekrogoblikon, Eighteen Visions, Gideon, Walls of Jericho, Category 7, Brat, comedians Josh Potter and Saul Trujillo, and appearances from Jose Mangin and Riki Rachtman.
