The undisputed Scumdogs of the Universe rise again. GWAR, the grotesque overlords of shock rock and eternal masters of intergalactic carnage, kicked off “The Return of Gor Gor Tour,” spreading their signature mix of blood, satire, and chaos across North America. Joined by Helmet, The Dwarves, and Blood Vulture, the band is tearing into their fifth decade with the same ferocity that’s left stages – and front rows – drenched for generations.
This tour is a full blown celebration of four decades of absurdity, rebellion, and artistry. GWAR has managed the impossible, to make outrage an art form and spectacle a cultural legacy. With The Return of Gor Gor, the band expands their universe once again.
The album itself is an event a longtime in the making. Featuring three new studio tracks mixed by Kurt Ballou (Converge, GodCity Studios), four live cuts from their 2024 show at The Masquerade in Atlanta mixed by Chris Ronan Murphy, and production by the band itself, the release doubles as both a sonic assault and a collector’s dream.
The package includes a 32-page comic chronicling the monstrous resurrection of Gor Gor – GWAR’s legendary T-Rex war beast – plus vinyl editions that come with an animated etching of Gor Gor on Side A. The Semi-Translucent Etched Deep Purple Vinyl is available exclusively at GWAR.net.
