Martin Garrix, Afrojack, and Marshmello bring the fire (literally) to Red Rocks

Last Thursday’s show at Red Rocks was more of a family reunion than a concert. Martin Garrix, Afrojack, and Marshmello traded sets and moments all night, blurring the lines between headliner and guest. It felt like watching three friends competing for who could get the crowd jumping higher, each pushing it a little harder but always in sync.

Marshmello set the tone early with his signature smooth, pop-leaning sound that had the crowd moving from the start. He even took a moment to honor the late Juice WRLD before launching into their chart topping collab “Come & Go,” which sent a wave of emotion throughout Red Rocks. Afrojack followed, switching gears with his trademark big room energy, confident, polished, and unapologetically loud.

Then, Martin Garrix took things up another level. His set was pure energy, a nonstop run of fan favorites and festival anthems that reminded everyone why he’s at the top of the game. From Animals” and “High on Life” to “Scared to Be Lonely,” every drop hit with precision and the joy and movement he brought to the performance was contagious.

But what really made the night special was how the three artists blurred the lines between their sets. Instead of a clean handoff from one artist to the next, they jumped in and out of each other’s mixes, building transitions together and layering their styles into something bigger than the sum of its parts. There were moments where all three were on stage at once, feeding off the crowd, smiling, and clearly just having fun with it. It didn’t feel like three separate performances; it felt like one massive, shared set built on chemistry and mutual respect.

It was over the top the whole time and the fans wouldn’t have wanted it any other way, with lasers, fire, and smoke emphasizing the insane energy of all of them. It was a great night of music from performers who clearly love what they do and respect each other’s craft.
