Men Without Hats is officially back in orbit. The legendary Canadian new wave icons have released their brand new album, On The Moon, out today on Shocore Music / MWH Entertainment. It’s a seven track blast of everything fans love about the band, including the obligatory neon bright synths, melodic nostalgia, emotional curveballs, and a sense of fun that hasn’t dimmed since the early MTV era.
Produced by GRAMMY and Juno Award winner Brian Howes and mixed by Mark Needham, with mastering from Howie Weinberg, On The Moon manages to feel both vintage and fresh. It swings between dance ready tracks, like “I Love the ‘80s” and “In Glorious Days,” and heartfelt ballads, like “Run Away” and “Love Me Tomorrow,” that feel ripped from an alternate 1984 in the best possible way. It’s the kind of record that reminds you exactly why this band’s DNA lives all over pop culture.
Men Without Hats has also released the music video for their single “In Glorious Days,” which you can watch right now on YouTube. Frontman Ivan Doroschuk called the song his first real experience with fully collaborative writing, saying that working with Brian Howes felt effortless. The process came together naturally and resulted in a track that blends the classic Men Without Hats sound with modern synthwave polish. Doroschuk says he can’t wait to play it live and has a strong feeling it’ll become a new fan favorite.
The new album arrives while the band is deep into tour season. They’ve joined this year’s Totally Tubular Festival lineup through December 29 and have announced an entire run of 2026 headline dates. Ticket info for every show is available through the band’s official website. The schedule includes Canadian dates, U.S. east coast appearances, festival slots, and a spot on The ‘80s Cruise early in the year. It’s a packed run for a band whose influence refuses to fade.
Men Without Hats’ story stretches back nearly five decades, from their basement show beginnings in 1977 all the way through the stadium-filling heyday of the 1980s. “Pop Goes the World” and “The Safety Dance” didn’t just land on the charts, they embedded themselves into global culture. They became memes before memes existed, turned into sports chants, and now sit at the intersection of nostalgia and timelessness with more than 31 million YouTube views and nearly 10 million monthly Spotify listeners. Few electronic bands have kept their legacy this alive for this long.
Through lineup changes and eras, Ivan Doroschuk has remained the driving force. His brother Colin was part of the classic run, and in a full circle moment, Colin’s daughter Sahara Sloan now joins the band on keyboards and vocals. The next generation is right there onstage, carrying the sound forward and giving the group a spark that feels both nostalgic and new.
Recording On The Moon happened in two distinct phases. Doroschuk spent two weeks on Vancouver Island working in Brian Howes’ studio, where they created “I Love the ‘80s” and “In Glorious Days.” The rest of the album was captured at Doroschuk’s oceanfront studio in Victoria with longtime collaborator Sho Murray. Those sessions shaped the more intimate tracks like “If You Try,” “Run Away,” “Love Me Tomorrow,” and “A Cause De Toi.” Doroschuk says they more than achieved their goal of keeping the album cohesive and called the entire experience “a real ON THE MOON experience.”
Tour dates for 2025 and 2026 are listed below, with more to come. Fans can expect everything Men Without Hats is known for: massive synth hooks, charismatic performances, and the kind of optimism that has carried their music through every era of pop. If this album is any indication, the band isn’t just revisiting their past—they’re expanding it.
