Girl Tones new single “Leave the City”

Rising rock duo Girl Tones tops off a wild year with a new electrifying single titled “Leave The City.” Girl Tones is a two-piece band brought to life by sisters Kenzie and Laila. The two described their new single as “navigating between pain and nostalgia in a place that you simultaneously love and hate.” “‘Leave the City’ is about growing pains.” It’s the perfect song for the oh so familiar “coming of age” feeling of uncertainty, my new 90 in a 30.

The band spent most of 2025 on the road supporting a notable collection of bands like Cage The Elephant, Silversun Pickups, The Velveteers, hey, nothing, and Sunday (1994). As if that wasn’t enough, the two also debuted at major U.S. festivals such as Lollapalooza and Austin City Limits, as well as The Great Escape in the U.K. They show no signs of stopping, as they have several tours lined up in the new year, supporting artists like Peter McPoland and Dexter and The Moonrocks. As someone lucky enough to have already experienced Girl Tones live, do not pass up seeing them. Only the sky is the limit for these two young, classically trained musicians. They were born to be on stage, and the future of rock is definitely in good hands with them.
