India’s emerging star Colle$ttye and chart-topping, GRAMMY- and Golden Globe-nominated recording artist Wiz Khalifa unite for their fresh track “BLUNTONOMICS,” an electrifying, bilingual trap single taking influence from India’s ever-growing underground rap movement. The piece combines Wiz’s signature rhythm with Colle$ttye’s masterful delivery and bass-driven production, creating a symbolic moment for modern hip-hop.

Los Angeles-based label D36 and Sony Music Entertainment are the key players in the release of this collaboration. “BLUNTONOMICS” truly represents a cultural crossover, with India’s underground ragecore sound having a spotlight on a global stage and making its own impact, while one of the most influential names in hip-hop sits in the passenger seat. This track has arrived in time to catch the new wave of Indian hip-hop that pivots to a younger, more melodious, and digitally motivated audience. As the scene’s popularity skyrockets through significant moments such as Travis Scott’s shows in Mumbai and Rolling Loud’s launch in India, future events will follow, such as Playboi Carti headlining Lollapalooza India 2026.

Khalifa shares, “Man, the music scene out in India is crazy right now. I already had plans to perform in India, but I really wanted to tap in. When I heard the Colle$ttye track, I knew I had to lay the verse down.”

Colle$ttye additionally states, “This collab is huge, but it’s not just about me. It’s about the whole scene in India that is starting to pop off. We’ve got a sound, we’ve got the talent, and we’re done waiting for a handout. We’re kicking the doors down. ‘BLUNTONOMICS’ is a message to everyone: find your own sound, and the world will come to you.”

Originating from Noida (UP-16) and the online communities dedicated to India’s new wave, Colle$ttye is a notable voice in a scene that blends a melodic punch wrapped in late-night, speaker-shaking production. His “CGPA”” lyric-breakdown video initiated one of the most iconic moments in India’s hip-hop scene, reaching a milestone of 2M+ views, along with 225k shares and 15M impressions across socials. The phrase “Bluntonomics” swiftly became popular among young listeners due to its bold ambition and humour, making it memorable. Starting as an in-joke within the Indian hip-hop community, it has transformed into a staple for a generation.

“BLUNTONOMICS” matches that same energy: late, euphoric, rule-breaking, and speaker-shaking bass with psychedelic tones and fiery drums. Colle$ttye’s verses smoothly merge Hindi and English, including local references (UP-16, Sector 50, campus pressure) into a narrative about being a driving force and self-belief. Wiz’s guest verse has the distinctive style that made him a worldwide name, creating a collaboration that merges an influential voice within the industry while making way for a new presence.

The record stands alongside releases from popular artists such as Playboi Carti, Travis Scott, and Lil Uzi Vert, while maintaining its own identity and influence, shaped by Delhi-NCR slang, DIY studios, and the influences of the Indian hip-hop fandom. This marks the first international collaboration to be produced out of the scene. “BLUNTONOMICS” emphasizes the acceleration at which Indian hip-hop is gaining worldwide attention while keeping its local identity.

Wiz Khalifa’s involvement also spotlights the demand arc around South Asian audiences globally. Khalifa has a global impact across various platforms, with 40M monthly listeners on Spotify and a combined social footprint that includes 39.7M on Instagram, 7.7M on TikTok, and 29.9M on YouTube, creating a stage for the track to reach international audiences. Meanwhile, Colle$ttye represents India’s well-known youth movement in each project he creates, always linking back to his roots. This installment acts as a prelude, as the single dropped in the lead-up to Wiz Khalifa’s headlining set at Rolling Loud India on November 22, 2025.
