After releasing their acclaimed debut album, Extraction, earlier this year, Raleigh, North Carolina’s Larcenia Roe is back with a new video for their upcoming single “Lean.” First premiered via Nik Nocturnal‘s Nocturnal Awards, the video for “Lean,” directed by Garrett Barefoo, can be seen online now from Unique Leader Records. Larcenia Roe comments: “This song is a reminder that you don’t have to hate someone just because they’re not you – there’s common ground in every divide.”
“Lean” is personally one of my favorite releases from them so far. My absolute favorite part of this release is at the very end with that absolute side-to-side, face-punching breakdown. Let’s not forget about these monstrous vocals that Ryan does. This band is continuously bending and shaping their sound to make something unique; they deserve every ounce of success they’re getting.
Next month, Larcenia Roe will join Born of Osiris, Within Destruction, and Aversions Crown for an extensive trek across the EU/U.K., before returning to the USA to support Left to Suffer on “The Eternal Suffering Tour” in February. See below for all dates!
As I’m sitting here typing this, I keep thinking about the first time I saw these guys and interviewed them. Seeing their progress as a band has been astounding, and I’m happy to finally see these guys cross the pond and hit international waters for the first time EVER—just as I thought this band would do when I first saw them at their first show.

Since their inception in 2023, deathcore outfit Larcenia Roe has captured listeners’ attention with their twisted imagery, jumpscare structure, and breakthrough vocal performances. Their debut EP, Dereliction (2024), garnered high praise and coverage by influencers, SubReddits, and social media outlets alike. In less than a year from their infancy, LR signed with Unique Leader Records, cementing their way into being one of the fastest-growing bands in extreme metal. Though the group holds many comparisons to other extreme sounds in the genre, their unique taste has simply been described as “different.” This distinction has generated much hype for their first full-length, Extraction, released earlier this year, with media hailing the record as a “sonic freak show” (New Transcendence). With features from Vulvodynia, Filth, and Alex Koehler, Extraction evolves from their debut EP, bringing in sounds from multiple extreme subgenres seasoned with their signature touch. As Blabbermouth writes, “If deathcore is a competitive sport, then these sick fucks are winning.”
Larcenia Roe lineup:
Ryan Vail – Vocals
Henry Koster – Guitar
Morgan Simons – Drums
Mike Rossi – Guitar
