South Florida emo and post-hardcore staples Good Night Moon have announced the release of their self-titled EP, arriving January 23. The five-song collection marks the band’s first new release in nearly two decades and presents a fully re-recorded version of their early material, updated for a new generation of listeners.
The EP was recorded and produced by Matt Marino and Ian Marchionda, mixed by Aaron Marsh of Copeland, and mastered by Jonathan Berlin. The result stays true to the band’s original emo core while benefiting from modern production clarity.
Vocalist JB Corey shared that the band intentionally narrowed the tracklist to songs that still resonate decades later. Written originally in their teens, the themes of heartbreak, healing, and personal growth remain intact, though the meaning has evolved with time and experience.
In addition to the EP announcement, Good Night Moon has confirmed their first live performances in over ten years. The band will return to the stage on April 17 at Swampgrass Willie’s in Palm Beach Gardens, Florida, followed by an April 18 show at Will’s Pub in Orlando. Both dates will feature support from Five Cent Wish and Northvale.
Originally active throughout Florida’s early 2000s alternative scene, Good Night Moon became a fixture of the region’s independent circuit, performing at venues such as Ray’s Downtown Blues, Spanky’s, Swampgrass Willie’s, and The Orange Door. The band later shared stages with acts including Bayside, Hellogoodbye, Taking Back Sunday, and My Chemical Romance before disbanding in 2009.

Revisiting the material nearly 20 years later has been described by the band as a full-circle moment, reconnecting them with the community and creative spirit that originally defined the project. The self-titled EP captures that nostalgia while allowing the songs to stand confidently in the present.
