Van Morrison has released his new album, Somebody Tried To Sell Me A Bridge, via Orangefield Records, thus continuing his strong history with blues and soul music. The project follows his recent album Remembering Now, which received positive feedback and even reached the Top 10. This new release features a mix of classic blues covers alongside original tracks, including the album’s title song.
The record includes collaborations with respected blues musicians such as Taj Mahal, Buddy Guy, and Elvin Bishop, as well as long-time collaborators John Allair, David Hayes, and Larry Vann. Recorded at Studio D in Sausalito, California, the album blends Morrison’s signature vocals with traditional blues instrumentation, creating a collection of songs that feels rooted in classic blues traditions he is well known for.
To support the release, Morrison is set to perform a series of shows in San Francisco this February with a full band lineup:
• February 17 – San Francisco, Palace of Fine Arts
• February 18 – San Francisco, Palace of Fine Arts
• February 19 – San Francisco, Palace of Fine Arts
• February 23 – San Francisco, Palace of Fine Arts
• February 24 – San Francisco, Palace of Fine Arts
