BURIAL PATH has released their new single, “Between Soil and Sun,” marking the first release to feature new vocalist Maya Pobst and signaling a new chapter for the band.
Emerging from the Midwest deathcore underground, the track pairs crushing instrumentation with heavy thematic weight, exploring the tension between decay and rebirth. “Between Soil and Sun” functions as both an introduction and a statement of intent, sharpening the band’s focus while expanding their emotional range.
Pobst describes the song as a confrontation with conformity and the pressures that shape identity. “’Between Soil and Sun’ is ultimately a track about not adhering to the status quo,” she explains. “It reflects the experience of discovering something within yourself that is innately different, then navigating both external opposition and internalized stigmatization. Staying true to who you really are matters, even when that choice leads to marginalization or sacrifice.”
The release arrives alongside a stark lyric video that visualizes the song’s central themes of burial, transformation, and self-reclamation. Its imagery mirrors the emotional arc of the track, tracing a slow movement from fracture toward clarity.
