Ahead of their much-anticipated fifth studio album Nightmare Tripping, English alternative rock band recently returned to Portland, Oregon, for the first time in three years on the second leg of their North American tour. Though it was the second-to-last stop on the tour, the band showed no signs of fatigue at the Wonder Ballroom on February 2, 2026.

Sace6, a rising alternative pop trio from Los Angeles, opened the evening with their emotionally-charged lyrics and powerful guitar riffs. Nu-metal outfit Dropout Kings, from Phoenix, Arizona, followed and dialed the energy up to 100. Lead vocalists William “Black Cat Bill” Lauderdale and Rob Sebastian fed off each other’s energy, dancing around one another on stage and effortlessly flowing from Lauderdale’s rapping to Sebastian’s singing. The quartet interacted with one another on stage throughout the set, often jokingly bumping into each other and engaging the audience in a way that made their set feel like a dance party with friends. Dropout Kings comprised the majority of their set from Yokai, their latest album released in honor of their founding vocalist shortly after his death last year. They ended their 11-song set with “GlitchGang” from their 2021 album of the same name.

By the time Don Broco took to the stage, the crowd was hyped. Don Broco opened their set with the catchy metalcore-inspired track “Cellophane,” the first single released from their upcoming album. Vocalist Rob Damiani sported a shirt with his name emblazoned above portraits of himself at various stages of his career and kicked his knees up as he jumped around the stage. Don Broco saw their first crowd surfer of the evening by their third song, “Come Out to LA” from their 2018 album Technology. From then on, it was a steady flow of crowd surfers, with the show progressively seeing more bodies over the barricade until the last song of their main set, when Damiani called for more crowd surfers than we’d seen the entire evening. The crowd complied and sent a larger wave of surfers for the final song of the main set, “Everybody” from Technology.

The band played all of their currently released singles from Nightmare Tripping during their 15-song set, with the rest of the set being comprised of works from 2018’s Technology and 2021’s Amazing Things, and ended their set with an encore of “T-Shirt Song” from Technology and “Hype Man,” the second single released from Nightmare Tripping.
