On February 13, 2026, Novulent released their debut album VOL. 3 via Capitol Records, which truly expresses the journey of an artist endlessly creating music while learning about themselves. This album represents the culmination of that journey. Novulent created a cinematic and atmospheric album that consistently pulls the listener in, giving them a cathartic experience. Listening to VOL. 3 from start to finish feels like being immersed in an emotional blur, with the intensity of those emotions growing as the album progresses. Each song explores themes that fans can resonate with and helps them understand the true beauty behind the lyricism.

sacrifice” is one of my favorite tracks because it represents the emotional core of despair that comes with knowing you have to let go of someone, as holding on will only destroy you. “sacrifice” is about understanding that surrendering that love, dependency, and intimacy with the person allows you to preserve your own identity. Listening to this single can deeply impact listeners because we make many sacrifices in life, yet often resist realizing how long their effects may linger.

dysphoria” is an immersive single with a hazy tone that truly encapsulates the alienation of existing within yourself while craving another person to fill that dark void. Listening to this song is an intimate experience, as it conveys the tension between the desire to be in love and the consuming nature of that love. The single is heavily distorted, with vocals drenched in desperation, evoking the feeling of escaping emotions and generating intense emotional tension. “dysphoria” feels unresolved, yet listeners can authentically relate to the lyricism if they are experiencing a similar situation.

the world ends with you” is the last single on the album, and its opening gives a sense of healing and understanding of who you are as an individual. It also conveys that, at the end of the day, when the world is quiet, the love you have for a specific person can consume you to the point where you lose yourself. The single wraps up the whole album because, when you listen to it, you realize that Novulent is telling a story through each track, and “the world ends with you” represents the hollow body that was once filled with emotions, showing how life can change your personal storyline.

Interviewer: Let’s start with the most basic question first. Can you give us some insight about who you are as an artist? Just a little background for new listeners!

Novulent: “I’m Novulent, a 21 year old solo singer/songwriter that makes rock music in their bedroom.”

Interviewer: Your music is very immersive and truly captures the intention of pulling at all your emotions. Can you explain a little bit about the major themes of this album release and what lead you to create music that can resonate with your listeners?

Novulent: “VOL. 3 is the ending to my album trilogy. I describe it as a coming of age album. You hear me grow up with each album, the way I sing, the way I write out my lyrics etc. VOL. 3 is the end of that. I’m not endlessly wondering, I’m content. I’m at peace, comfortable with the unfamiliar and that unfamiliar is love.”

Interviewer: “Novulent” — how did you come up with that name, and how does it connect to your music?

Novulent: “I wanted to be called nova, but that was already taken so I just kept on randomizing words to match, and boom, I got Novulent. Its a striking name that stands out just the way I like it.”

Interviwer: As a person who loves to understand the process of music being made, can you tell us a little bit about some studio stories and how the songs were created?

Novulent: “I don’t ever work in studios. All my music is made in my room. Studios make me feel uneasy and uncomfortable, it’s too corporate and robotic. I don’t really have any ‘studio stories’ since when I make a song it’s usually a rush of emotion I feel that I pour out into song form.”

Interviewer: With this album release, what tracks mean the most to you, and why?

Novulent: ““the world ends with you” is my favorite and I can’t tell you why, you have to listen to the album from start to finish then you’ll get it.”

Interviewer: Out of all the tracks, which ones do you think will have the largest impact on listeners?

Novulent: “The song I hope connects with my novas is “the world ends with you,” but it probably will be “dysphoria” based on reactions I’ve already seen.”

Interviewer: “sacrifice” has to be one of my favorites so far. Please tell us more about that single.

Novulent: “That song is a late track I made in developing VOL. 3. It’s about the realization that to improve, you must give up something, and in this case it’s a relationship (whether it’s a friendship or dating relationship, it doesn’t matter, wtv fits your situation). And so the entire song is mourning that loss, not letting it prevent you from improving and achieving what you need to. Thats why I love the lyric “may your name be forgotten in history but inside you your heart speaks to me give me one more chance” — it perfectly captures the song. In time, you’ll forget the person you ‘sacrificed,’ you won’t think about them, they won’t even be a memory anymore despite this. The other person will want to come back to you swearing things will be better, but it’s too late — they know that you know that.”

Interviewer: With this new album, were you able to express all the emotions you wanted to through all the lyricism?

Novulent: “Yes. I don’t mean this in a hyperbolic sense, it’s literal — VOL. 3 is my perfect album. I’ve never been so sure of an album before”

Interviewer: Last question: what’s the main message you want to give to your listeners about this album release?

Novulent: “Take your time, take it all in — the emotions you feel, the lyrics that hit you the most, remember that and cherish it. This journey of mine is also yours, so enjoy the moment.”
