“Five Star” deals with Niko Rubio’s journey into navigating her newfound confidence after leaving a toxic relationship. She states, “‘Five star’ is my alter ego song.” She describes herself as a character — a “five-star beauty queen” — whose main focus is to feel hot and sexy after choosing to end a toxic relationship. Niko shares that choosing to make music in English again feels “foreign,” and she’s getting used to her voice again, but still Niko manages to share the message that we all deserve non-toxic love.

“Five Star” is just one of Niko Rubio’s many accomplishments. From releasing her latest single “Sunday Girl” to festival performances at Lollapalooza and Summerfest, she continues to build momentum. In the last six months, her following has nearly doubled on social media, and her streaming numbers continue to grow.

Both singles follow Niko’s 2025 collaboration with Zuri Marley, the daughter of Ziggy Marley and granddaughter of Bob Marley, on a reimagining of her single “Ring Ring.” The iconic collaboration first appeared in Niko’s 2025 EP “Ring Ring,” produced by GRAMMY® Award-winner Lester Mendez (Shakira, Santana, Nelly Furtado). The project consists ofsongs like “Baby” and “Ring Ring,” which ended up being fan favorites, alongside the Spanish guitar-influenced ballad “Quisiera Saber,” which earned recognition from the Los Angeles Times.

Stay tuned for more from Niko in 2026!
