Corrosion of Conformity releases new album Good God/Baad Man

American heavy metal legends CORROSION OF CONFORMITY will release their long-awaited new double album, Good God / Baad Man, on April 3 via Nuclear Blast! Their last album was released in 2018, so this album has been anticipated for a few years. Last year, I had the opportunity to capture photos at two of their shows for The Concert Chronicles. Pepper Keenan, vocalist for the band, announced that 2026 would bring a new album, and here it is. The wait is over.

The events that triggered the need for a new album came from a tragedy that hit the band; in grieving, we produce such creative things. In 2020, bandmate Reed Mullins passed away, and during COVID-19, things changed: Mike Dean left the band. This left Pepper Keenan and Woody Weatherman wondering what they were going to do. So, they did the next best thing; they met at Keenan house and overdosed on their favorite bands, listening to Discharge, ZZ Top, Motörhead, Neil Young, and Black Sabbath – the legends of rock and roll became inspiration to start creating again. They got so creative that they produced a double album. They decided to title the album, Good God / Baad Man, which gives the listener the feeling that Good God leans toward the heavier/pissed end of the spectrum, while Baad Man is more on the throwdown rock scope. As we went along, it became clear which songs went on which album. Keenan and Weatherman brought in drummer Stanton Moore and bassist Bobby “Rock” Landgraf to bring this album to life.

Nuclear Blast Records reports the band’s first preview of this mammoth offering comes in the form of lead single, “Gimme Some Moore.” The track features backing vocals from Ministry’s Al Jourgensen and Madonna guitarist Monte Pittman. The hook of the song is, “Struggle is worth the fight/Leather, chains, and spikes.” “Me and Woody wanted to write a song as if we were 17 years old again,” Pepper explains. “We even made a seven-inch for it.” Said seven-inch, released during their Mexico/South American tour last month, is an early ‘80s punk throwback, complete with a black and white photo collage and a fear cover on the flipside. It’s a ripper. The video for “Gimme Some Moore” was filmed by Mike Holderbeast and directed by Pepper Keenan

To celebrate the new album Good God / Baad Man, Corrosion of Conformity will be heading out on tour starting in April with openers Whores and Crobot. Go to your favorite ticket sales site and purchase your tickets for this show coming to a city near you.
