Anabelle Dinda, a New York-based singer-songwriter, just announced tour dates opening for Noah Kahan alongside Gigi Perez. The tour will visit multiple stadiums across North America and follow the “Stick Season” singer to several iconic ballparks, including nights at Fenway Park and Wrigley Field.
Recently, Dinda released her debut album Some Things Never Leave, a beautiful body of work that captures Dinda’s emotional sharpness, innermost thoughts, and close focus. The album was written in Dinda’s Lower East Side apartment and showcases her intentional songwriting and flowing melodies. Dinda describes the work as “a romantic album about life, but not necessarily romantic love.” Each song contributes to the overarching theme of inward reflection and deep rumination, resulting in self-transformations that draw her in over and over again.
The album was recorded over the course of two weeks in a Greenpoint studio with the help of producer Jacob Portrait, an Unknown Mortal Orchestra member who has also produced for big names like Lil Yachty, Alex G, and Orville Peck. The recording sessions prioritized instinct over polish, creating a work that feels comfortable, lived-in, and quietly confident without restraint.
The album release closely followed Dinda’s viral song “The Hand,” which is a calm yet rageful song that touches on gendered double standards and hypocrisy in society. The song blew up on TikTok, with just a video of Anabelle and her guitar, and it inspired a slew of edits and discourse that would take the internet by storm. I’ve been a fan of all three of these artists for quite some time, and I would dare to call these powerhouse artists all together a perfect lineup. This song really set the tone for the vulnerability that we would see in the rest of the album.
