Freya Skye’s Stars Align Tour hits Boston

On Friday, February 27, Freya Skye performed at the House of Blues in Boston to a crowd that was completely sold out on her “Stars Align Tour.

I arrived at the venue just before the doors opened. The first thing I noticed was the line of people trying to get in. It was so long that it extended all the way down the street. It was very cold that night, but that did not stop anyone. Some people had even been there all day just to be in that room. The audience mostly consisted of young girls, mainly accompanied by their parents, all dressed up, on theme, and so excited to see their favorite star.

While I was waiting for the show to start, I met a dad who told me he had surprised his daughter with tickets to see Skye for Christmas. He said he loved that she was also into music and that they could share moments like this together.

This is Freya’s first time headlining a tour, after having been part of the “Disney Descendants Zombies Worlds Collide Tour last year. She also stars in the Disney Channel Original Movie, Zombies 4: Dawn of the Vampires. Freya Skye is definitely making quite a name for herself!

One of the most memorable moments of the night was during “My Own Way,” which is a song from the hit movie. The crowd sang every single word back to her, making it a really sweet experience to witness.

She also sang “Who I Thought I Knew” stripped down, performing with just an acoustic guitar to back her up. At only 16 years old, she is already so in control of her voice and has excellent stage presence. It was one of my favorite performances of the night.

For the encore song, “Gold’s Gone,” she returned in a sparkly gold dress after starting the night in green, which was the perfect way to end the set.

Adrian Lyles opened the show. Known for his role in High School Musical: The Musical: The Series, you could tell right away that he belonged on stage. Lyles had so much energy and looked like he was having so much fun. He performed some of his songs, like “All That I Wanted Was You” and “Peace of Mind.” He also covered “Birds of a Feather” by Billie Eilish, which everyone loved and sang along to.
