The Runarounds SOLD-OUT show at Brooklyn Bowl Nashville

Alt-rock band The Runarounds completely took over Brooklyn Bowl Nashville this past weekend, playing a sold-out stop on their “Minivan Tour.” The last time they were in Nashville, they played to around 200 people at The Basement. Now, two sold-out nights, 1,200 fans each night, packed wall to wall. The growth has been unreal to watch.

The band — Axel Ellis, William Lipton, Jeremy Yun, Jesse Golliher, and Zende Murdock — first came together in 2020 after stumbling upon a casting call to play a house band on the Netflix series “Outer Banks.” What started as an on-screen opportunity quickly turned into something real. They later went on to star in their own “The Runarounds” series on Prime Video, directed by Jonas Pate, and from there, the momentum hasn’t slowed down.

After watching the series, I instantly became a fan and started following their journey closely. I remember when they were sitting at around 20,000 followers on Instagram. Now, they’re well past 200,000. Seeing that growth in real time makes moments like this feel even bigger.

The setlist was stacked with fan favorites from the series, a few covers, and even an unreleased track. One of the most special moments of the night was when Lilah Pate joined them on stage for a cover of “The Climb” by Miley Cyrus. It was such a beautiful moment. Hearing hundreds of voices sing this in unison was pure magic. My personal favorite to hear live was “Minivan.” There’s something about it that completely transforms in a live setting. It carries that carefree, windows-down, summer-break, crammed-into-a-car-with-your-best-friends energy.

What stood out to me most was the genuine joy their performance brought out. Simply, it just felt real. You could see it in the way people were smiling at each other, screaming the lyrics with their best friends, and just fully in the moment. It was the kind of joy that spreads without you even realizing it. More than anything, it felt like they’ve built a real community around their music. It didn’t feel like just another crowd watching a show; it felt like a room full of people who all understood each other for the night. The laughs between songs, the little spontaneous moments, the way the energy kept building, it all felt natural. It reminded me why live music is so special in the first place.

Not only was this night one of two sold-out shows in Nashville, but it was also night 32 of 32 on the winter leg of the tour. 32 shows in, and they still played like it was the first night. High energy, locked in, and clearly grateful.

I went into the night with high expectations, and I left convinced they’d exceeded every single one. It was loud, emotional, and unforgettable. The band showed that their rise from a Netflix cameo to stars of the Prime Video series “The Runarounds” wasn’t just hype. Their live performance is raw, engaging, and overall incredibly captivating. They are a band with momentum, charisma, and a sound that grabs attention. Nashville got a close-up look at a group on the rise, and it was impossible not to leave with the energy they brought to the stage.
