American progressive rock band The Dear Hunter has announced a summer 2026 U.S. tour in support of their upcoming album Sunya. The run, titled “The Road to Sunya,” will take place across May, July, and August with support from Closure in Moscow and K Sera in select markets.
The tour supports the band’s upcoming record Sunya, arriving March 20 via Cave and Canary Goods. The album’s first single, “The Glass Desert I – Giants,” is available now alongside its official music video.
The Dear Hunter began as a side project of vocalist and multi-instrumentalist Casey Crescenzo while he was a member of The Receiving End of Sirens. Since evolving into a full band in 2006, the project has become known for its ambitious concept albums and genre-blending sound.
Much of the band’s catalog is built around the narrative-driven Acts series that began with Act I: The Lake South, the River North. Outside of that storyline, the group has explored other sonic directions with releases like The Color Spectrum, Migrant, and Antimai.
With Sunya, the band pushes further into a world first introduced on Antimai. The new album blends progressive rock with synth-driven textures, jazz influences, and funk-inspired rhythms. While the scope remains ambitious, the lyrical perspective becomes more personal.
“Sunya is our most ambitious effort to date,” the band shared. “There are a lot of funky jazz fusion type influences that show up in these songs. But the record still feels like The Dear Hunter. Lyrically we explore dystopian themes while layering in a lot of synth driven elements.”
