Diplo executive produces BTS’ new album ‘ARIRANG’ ahead of March 20 release

Diplo Produces BTS ARIRANG Album Announcement

Diplo is stepping into one of the year’s biggest pop releases as executive producer of BTS highly anticipated return album ARIRANG, which is set to arrive on March 20. Alongside longtime BTS collaborator Pdogg, Diplo helped shape the sound of the project and personally produced five tracks, including “Body to Body,” “FYA,” “Like Animals,” “One More Night,” and “Into the Sun.”

That gives Diplo more producer credits than anyone else on the album, which says plenty on its own. The project also features contributions from writers and producers signed to Diplo’s publishing company, Bison Music Publishing, including Picard Brothers, NITTI, Ki-An Dee Kambaran, and Leclair, who worked on the lead single SWIM.”

Diplo said he first joined the project through his relationship with Chairman Bang of HYBE, who brought him in during late 2024. According to Diplo, the vision from the start was to avoid playing it safe. Instead of a standard pop record, the goal was to build something riskier, more rebellious, and more forward-looking.

He described the early references for the album as rooted in trip hop and old school hip hop, with months spent shaping a sound built around unexpected textures and moodier production. Diplo also pointed to collaborators like his Bison writers, Flume, and JPEGMAFIA as part of that process, while emphasizing that the album was meant to spotlight BTS as artists with more depth, evolution, and perspective than ever before.

In Diplo’s words, ARIRANG is meant to push Korean music forward and reinforce that BTS are not just global stars, but a serious creative force. Big statement, sure, but not exactly a timid one. And honestly, timid does not seem to be the point here.

ARIRANG adds another major credit to Diplo’s already sprawling catalog. Across a career that has jumped genres without asking permission, he has worked with names like Beyoncé, Madonna, Robyn, Justin Bieber, Britney Spears, Snoop Dogg, and Usher. His own projects, including Major Lazer, Silk City, and LSD, have racked up Diamond, multi-Platinum, and global chart success along the way.

More recently, Diplo also co-produced and co-wrote JENNIE’s Gold certified like JENNIE and BLACKPINK’s JUMP,” which debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard Global 200. That makes this BTS project feel less like a random crossover and more like another calculated swing at the center of global pop.

The announcement lands during a packed year for Diplo overall. Major Lazer recently performed at the Closing Ceremony of the 2026 Milano Cortina Winter Olympics, and the group is also slated for major festival appearances including Coachella, Governors Ball, Bonnaroo, and Ultra. On top of that, Diplo’s HonkyTonk is returning to Stagecoach 2026, while Diplo’s Run Club wrapped its second season with nearly 100,000 attendees across eight U.S. cities.

Between all of that and the release of ARIRANG on March 20, Diplo is once again everywhere at once. Annoyingly efficient, as always.
