Ty Dolla $ign is back with girl music vol. 1, a new six-track EP out now via Atlantic Records. The project marks a return to the more melodic and R&B-driven side of his sound, while bringing together a cross-generational lineup that includes Ronald Isley, Brandy, and Leon Thomas.

The release is led by the Apple Music debut track “bad bitch alert” and also includes “miss u 2” with Leon Thomas, which arrived alongside an official music video. Across the EP, Ty Dolla $ign leans into live instrumentation, smoother arrangements, and the kind of late-night R&B atmosphere that has long been one of his strongest lanes.
Ty said the idea for girl music vol. 1 came together naturally during a dinner in New York City, when a conversation turned toward the kind of songs women actually want to hear in different moments of life. That concept helped shape everything from the collaborators to the sequencing, and gave the project a more organic, intentional feel.
The EP also continues a strong run for Ty Dolla $ign, following his 2025 album TYCOON and the success of tracks like “DON’T KILL THE PARTY.” Beyond his own catalog, he remains one of the most recognizable collaborators in modern hip hop and R&B, with a discography that stretches across pop, rap, and soul without losing his identity in the process.
That flexibility shows up again here. girl music vol. 1 feels smaller in scale than some of Ty’s more feature-heavy releases, but that works in its favor. Instead of sounding overloaded, the project feels focused, warm, and built around chemistry.
