Canadian artist bbno$ has released his new single “why am i like this,” an introspective track that leans into a stripped-back bedroom pop and alternative sound.
Produced by Inverness and co-written with JBACH, the song finds bbno$ turning the lens inward, reflecting on the small habits and self-sabotaging patterns that quietly build over time.
The song explores themes of leaning on friends as emotional support lines, endlessly doomscrolling instead of showing up for family, and replaying past relationships long after they end. Through humor and self-awareness, the track ultimately becomes a moment of self-reflection.
“Sometimes you realize you’re the common denominator in your own problems,” bbno$ said. “This song is basically me calling myself out and trying to laugh about it before it gets too real.”
The official music video, released alongside the single, expands on the track’s themes with a minimalist black-and-white visual. The video follows bbno$ as he drifts through surreal, empty spaces — floating through the void, staring into the glow of a static television, and wandering through quiet, liminal environments that mirror the internal dialogue of the song.
The release arrives during a major moment for the artist. bbno$’s latest self-titled album debuted at No. 2 among Spotify’s most-streamed releases following its October 2025 release, further cementing his status as one of the platform’s most consistent global hitmakers.
He also recently launched the “Internet Explorer World Tour,” which kicked off February 14 in San Francisco and spans more than 50 dates across multiple continents. The tour includes major stops at London’s O2 Brixton Academy, Bonnaroo, and Colorado’s iconic Red Rocks Amphitheatre.
