Each summer, Budapest’s Óbuda Island becomes home to one of Europe’s largest festivals, and this year is no exception as the highly anticipated Sziget Festival returns for 2026. Known as the “Island of Freedom,” Sziget brings together hundreds of thousands of visitors for six days of music, as well as art and cultural experiences. Over the years, it has grown into a major international event, featuring dozens of stages and a lineup spanning pop, rock, electronic, and many other genres while creating a diverse atmosphere and a unique experience with each edition.
This year’s lineup, however, is already shaping up to be one of Sziget’s most diverse ones yet. Headliners include Twenty One Pilots, Florence + The Machine, and Lewis Capaldi, alongside rising act sombr. They’ll be joined by a mix of established and newer names, such as Bring Me the Horizon, Wolf Alice, Zara Larsson, Giant Rooks, bbno$, and Biffy Clyro, with more artists still expected to be announced. Electronic music also remains a key part of the festival’s programming, with acts like Underworld and Dom Dolla contributing to the late-night lineup.
But away from the main stages, the festival also features a variety of experiences, such as art installations and theatre, to dedicated nightlife areas. This expansive approach is what sets Sziget apart from more traditional festivals, bringing a global crowd back to the Island of Freedom year after year. With further lineup and other announcements still to come, Sziget Festival 2026 is already shaping up to be a major highlight of the European summer festival scene.
The festival will take place from 11–15 August 2026 in Budapest, Hungary, at Óbuda Island. Tickets and further lineup announcements are available via the festival’s official website!
