Sofia & The Antoinettes release new single

SOFIA & THE ANTOINETTES RELEASE NEW SINGLE “VESPA,” AND ANNOUNCE DEBUT U.K. HEADLINE TOUR FRESH FROM SUPPORTING LOLA YOUNG IN LONDON AND LOS ANGELES.

On March 6, Sofia & the Antoinettes released their new single “Vespa.” This song has a bittersweet feel to it as the lyrics mention longing for her younger self. At just 23 years old, Sofia demonstrates emotional depth in her music, capturing the complex and often painful sides of relationships through moody melodies and vivid storytelling. You can see this in her new song “Vespa” as she reflects on past heartbreaks in a way that feels both personal and mature. Her lyrics reference classic icons like Elizabeth Taylor and Bette Davis, giving her a timeless, glamorous edge. This sense of drama and atmosphere carries through to her overall style, which is heavily influenced by filmmakers such as Sofia Coppola and David Lynch, giving her work a cinematic feel.

Sofia has quickly built recognition, especially from BBC Radio 1 and Wonderland, after releasing her 2025 debut EP WOMEN WHO LOVE TOO MUCH. Her latest single, “Hi My Love,” was featured as BBC Introducing’s Tune of the Week. She began 2026 by performing at The Lower Third as part of their Ones To Watch lineup. With a captivating presence on stage, Sofia recently opened for Lola Young at the London Palladium and is scheduled to support her again in Los Angeles later this month. Following that, she will set out on her first U.K. headline run, including dates in Manchester at the Deaf Institute on May 19 and in London at Hoxton Hall on May 20.

LISTEN TO VESPA

Now based in East London, Sofia draws inspiration from a mix of musicians and writers, such as Lola Young, Leonard Cohen, Lana Del Rey, Jeff Buckley, and Sylvia Plath. She has built a growing fanbase through word of mouth, thanks to her detailed songwriting, unique voice, and powerful performances. In 2025, she released her first EP, WOMEN WHO LOVE TOO MUCH, which explores themes of love, heartbreak, and identity, taking influence from Robin Norwood’s book of the same title. Alongside the EP, she held a residency at Bar Doña in Stoke Newington, where each show focused on different expressions of female emotion, like “Women Who Cry Too Much,” “Women Who Smoke Too Much”, and “Women Who Think Too Much.”

Sofia creates music for women who often find themselves in complicated or one-sided relationships, who feel emotions deeply, and find meaning in everyday moments. Her EP is meant to connect with those women and help them feel understood. She describes her perspective by saying that in her world, strength comes from femininity, and what is often seen as softness can actually be powerful. Her artistic style has a cinematic, slightly dark edge, as if Sofia Coppola and David Lynch came together to tell the story of a woman through old love letters, resulting in something unique and striking that defines Sofia and the Antoinettes as an emerging talent.
