FOOTBALLHEAD releases their new album, ‘Weight Of The Truth’

Last week, Chicago-based band FOOTBALLHEAD released their highly anticipated album, Weight Of The Truth. The group is currently composed of guitarist and vocalist Snow Ellet, guitarist and vocalist Ryan Nolen, guitarist Liam Burns, bassist Nathan Spainhower, and drummer Andrew Smith. They are inspired by the early 2000s and the cultural shifts that happened during that time. Prior to the release, the band dropped their singles “Used To Be,” “Diversion,” and “Fall Away,” with music videos to accompany them. However, the group agrees that the titular song of the album encapsulates the band best.

FOOTBALLHEAD states, “We feel that it encapsulates the past, present, and future of our band — aggressive yet tender; brash but lyrically insightful. Sometimes, bracing for and accepting the inevitable is all we can do.”

It has only been two years since they made their debut with the hit album, Overthinking Everything. They continued to grow into 2025 by opening for groups such as Hot Mulligan and Taking Back Sunday. Additionally, they made their mainstream festival debut in their hometown for Chicago’s Riot Fest in September 2025. FOOTBALLHEAD has experienced tremendous growth in their career, and is beginning a new chapter with Weight Of The Truth. This album sets them apart from others in the genre by weaving together the sounds of their youth to the present in a cohesive, powerful, and unique sound.

Despite being fairly new to the scene, FOOTBALLHEAD has already established themselves as a group to watch through their entertaining and innovative art. This album shows how much growth can happen when a group has passion for their work.
