The expanded version included three new tracks, with a brand new single called “Can’t Wait,” a previously released diss track called “Square One,” and a remix of “The Magic” by the band’s own Katie Henderson.

The original album, Gold Star Baby, is a concept album that The Aces had real fun crafting together. It’s not meant to be a really serious album but rather a metaphorical nightclub where everyone is invited to celebrate queerness and escapist, sapphic, disco-pop fun. And the three new additions don’t stray from this vibe of fun, creative liberty.

The aces shared their thoughts on the deluxe version: “We felt like we wanted to keep the ‘Gold Star Baby’ party going. We had so much fun touring this record and the culture we built with the fans, and wanted one last hurrah. So, we decided to share some of our unreleased favs from the era. Little bit of heartbreak, a lot of disco. That’s GSB.”
