The Monster Energy Supercross Championship returned in Birmingham for Round 10, and it didn’t take long for the night to center around one rider.
Hunter Lawrence delivered one of the strongest performances of his career inside Protective Stadium, controlling the 450SMX main event from the early laps and never giving it back. The win marked his third victory in the last four races, further tightening his grip on the championship standings.

Behind him, the race unfolded in layers. Ken Roczen fought forward from deep in the field, climbing from outside the top ten into a hard-earned second. Eli Tomac, after a difficult heat that forced him into the Last Chance Qualifier (LCQ), managed to recover for a third-place finish, salvaging what could have been a much worse night.

Lawrence’s ride wasn’t just fast; it was controlled. With clean air early, he built a gap and managed it through traffic, keeping Roczen close enough to matter but never close enough to threaten.
The 250SMX East/West Showdown brought a different kind of chaos. Haiden Deegan surged from 10th to take the checkered flag in dramatic fashion, only to be penalized after the race for cutting a split-lane section of the track. The win was ultimately awarded to Cole Davies, reshaping the championship picture in the East division.
Moments like that are part of what makes these showdowns unpredictable. One decision, one line choice, and the entire result changes after the checkered flag.
Elsewhere, the SMX Next division continued its run of parity, with Vincent Wey securing his first win in a wire-to-wire performance that never gave anyone else a real chance to step in.
With Birmingham in the books, the series moves to Detroit for Round 11, where the championship fight in both classes continues to tighten.
