Emo’s Not Dead is heading back out to sea, and at this point, it’s less of a novelty and more of a full-blown tradition.
The fifth annual Emo’s Not Dead Cruise will set sail January 22 through January 26, 2027, departing from Miami, Florida, aboard the Norwegian Joy and making its way to Great Stirrup Cay in the Bahamas. What started as a niche, internet-born idea has grown into one of the most unique gatherings in the alternative scene, blending live music, community, and just enough chaos to make it memorable.
This year’s lineup pulls from across eras of emo, post hardcore, and adjacent scenes, with Yellowcard, Mayday Parade, and Dance Gavin Dance leading the charge. They’re joined by The Ghost Inside, Silverstein, Don Broco, The Cab, Hot Milk, Saosin, and more. It’s the kind of lineup that doesn’t really exist anywhere else anymore, especially in a setting this immersive.
But the music is only part of it. The cruise leans hard into the experience. Fans aren’t just watching sets; they’re sharing space with the artists, whether that’s running into them between stages, catching acoustic sets, or ending up at the same late-night event. Add in things like themed nights, comedy sets, casino runs, water slides, and the general unpredictability of being on a ship with a few thousand like-minded people, and it becomes something closer to a floating festival than a traditional tour stop.
Stops at Great Stirrup Cay bring a different pace, with excursions like ziplining, beach cabanas, and yes, swimming with pigs. It’s a strange contrast to the distortion and nostalgia happening back on board, but that’s part of the appeal. The whole thing walks a line between vacation and full sensory overload.
After four consecutive sellouts, availability is already tight for 2027. If the past few years are any indication, this one won’t last long.
