Round 11 of the Monster Energy Supercross Championship inside Ford Field delivered exactly what the series has been building toward all season. A brutal whoops section, constant pressure up front, and just enough mistakes from key riders to shift the entire championship picture.

Ken Roczen took control early and never gave it back. What stood out wasn’t raw speed, but composure. While others pushed and paid for it, Roczen adjusted, found rhythm, and stretched the gap when it mattered. The win marked the 25th of his career and quietly pulled him right back into the title conversation.

Chase Sexton returning from injury and landing in second added another layer to the night. It wasn’t perfect, but it didn’t need to be. After weeks off the bike, just being back in the mix shifted momentum for both him and the field chasing consistency.

Behind them, Malcolm Stewart finally broke through for his first podium of the season, while Eli Tomac played the long game. A fifth-place finish doesn’t jump off the page, but with Hunter Lawrence crashing out of contention, it was enough to reclaim the points lead heading into the final stretch.

The 250SMX class told a different story. Cole Davies came from deep in the field and turned it into his third straight win, cutting through the pack like the track wasn’t breaking riders down the same way. It wasn’t just a win, it was a statement, and it extended his hold on the championship in a way that’s starting to feel difficult to stop.

With six rounds remaining, Detroit didn’t settle anything. It tightened everything. The margin for error is gone, and every mistake now carries real weight as the title fight closes in.
