Sam Sauvage, The new French artist to follow ! First concert at the Cigale

On 31 March, Sam Sauvage played to a sold-out crowd at his very first show at La Cigale. After a pretty crazy year, filled with concerts, festivals, and a Victoire de La Musique award, this gig was the perfect opportunity to connect with his audience ahead of his highly anticipated show at the prestigious Olympia.

The lights go down, and Sam leaps onto the stage dressed in a very smart suit and tie, then launches into one of his biggest hits:Les Gens qui dansent (I love it),” a great way to kick off an energetic show.

From the very first seconds, something grabs you: a presence, a certain style, a way all his own of commanding the stage.

Sam Sauvage delivers a set full of nuances, ranging from piano ballads to a song about his grandfather, “Mon grand-père à moi,” and tracks like “Avis de tempête” and “Ne t’en fais pas pour elle.”

It’s a moving moment when he launches into the song “Pas Bourré,” which evokes the world of Stromae with its “formidable” music video. And it really works.

It has to be said that Sam Sauvage is quite a character. You can tell he lives every word; he’s not afraid to be himself, and he’s a true artist.

What’s also striking is the contrast between his unique appearance and his age. Because, at 25, he doesn’t fit the mould of people his age, and that’s impressive. There’s a maturity in his voice and in his lyrics that sets him apart as an artist. He appeals to people of all ages, too.

For his very first show at La Cigale, he naturally performed tracks from his debut album Mesdames, Messieurs!, but we were also treated to a proper retrospective of his early EPs, “Prémices(2023) and his self-titled EP from 2025.

A generous concert that leaves you wanting to rediscover him at his next Olympia show in December!
