TOM PETTY’S ESTATE UNVEILSULTRA-LIMITED STORMY “COOL BLUE” VINYL

OF THE LIVE ANTHOLOGY – FROM THE VAULTS VOL. 1

NEW 2,000-COPY PRESSING HIGHLIGHTS PETTY’S OWN CURATION OF THIS RARE, FROM-THE-VAULT RECORDING

The Tom Petty Estate recently announced the release of its exclusive stormy “Cool Blue” mottled vinyl, The Live Anthology – From The Vaults Vol. 1, and is an ultra-limited edition pressing, with just 2,000 individually numbered copies to be made available; with tracks chosen by Tom Petty himself. If you are so inclined to purchase one, you can find them HERE. These recordings create a strong, intimate picture of Tom Petty & The Heartbreakers’ untimely onstage performances with a dynamic, deep track set list featuring “Like A Diamond,” “Think About Me,” “Ballad of Easy Rider,” and more.

Tom’s personally curated disc was originally included as the final bonus disc in a limited edition 5CD box of The Live Anthology (a 2009 Best Buy–exclusive) and has never before been available as a standalone vinyl release.

Recently, fans got to purchase the turquoise version of Petty’s archived vision, retailing only at indie record stores with a pressing of 11,000 internationally.

For more than 40 years, Tom Petty has been one of the most beloved musicians and songwriters of his generation—and generations to come. People all over the world know Tom Petty and his band, the Heartbreakers. Not only did he release 13 studio albums with the Heartbreakers, but he also recorded three solo albums, including some of my all-time favorites: the unforgettable Full Moon Fever, Wildflowers, and Highway Companion.

Tom was also part of the star-studded supergroup the Traveling Wilburys, as well as the pre-Heartbreakers band Mudcrutch.

Celebrated as one of the greatest rock artists of all time, Tom Petty earned his place in both the Songwriters Hall of Fame and the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame, along with multiple Grammy Awards. Over his legendary career, he sold more than 85 million records, reached over five billion streams, and performed for more than 140 million fans around the world.

Petty is also remembered for his generosity and commitment to service. He received some of philanthropy’s highest honors, including the Midnight Mission’s Golden Heart Award in 2011 and MusiCares’ Person of the Year in 2017.

Today, the Petty Estate continues to carry forward his legacy—musically and in spirit—by championing the causes he cared about. Earlier this year, the Estate partnered with GoFundMe to provide direct financial support to 10 families affected by the Los Angeles wildfires, and contributed to MusiCares and Healthcare for Homeless Animals. The Estate also proudly sponsored this year’s NYC Pride and supported the LGBTQIA+ youth organization It Gets Better.

Tom Petty passed away in 2017 shortly after completing his 40th anniversary tour, leaving behind a huge archive of unreleased material. His music continues to reach fans, both new and old, around the world today.
