Jon Bellion and Luke Combs unveil powerhouse collab with new single “Why”

Within the past five hours when I wrote this, I was in a very VERY minor car crash. Why am I saying this? Because I realized I am okay, and that’s all that matters. I got to go home to my parents who love me, and that’s all that matters.

Love provokes so much emotion. Having a kid provokes that emotion and more, and nothing matters more than those emotions. A car accident, a thunderstorm, a cat, a dog – everything replaceable… That doesn’t matter to a parent. All that matters is if YOU’RE okay.

48-hours before the birth of his son, GRAMMY-nominated singer-songwriter and producer Jon Bellion – with the help of country icon and two-time CMA Entertainer of the Year Luke Combs– wrote his new single “WHY.”

“It’s about the anxiety of falling in love with a child and the vulnerability that brings upon your life, questioning what love is, and if you’re going to be a good enough dad,” Jon Bellion said about “WHY.”

Following his anticipated album FATHER FIGURE, which is due out on June 4, this single sets the stage for a remarkable and beautiful album release. Jon has already proven just how versatile his cross-genre talents are, and this single certainly solidifies that.

Luke Combs was delighted to be a part of the new single, mentioning that he had been a fan of Jon for many years.

With me having two sons of my own and knowing how much I love them and how big of a role they play in my ‘WHY,’ it was a no brainer. I was all in,” says Luke Combs on “WHY.”

Alongside this single, the two superstars also came out with a breathtaking official video. Directed by Alex Palumbo, filmed at Southern Ground in Nashville, Tennessee, the music video featured Bellion and Combs with snippets of clips of Bellion, his three sons, and his wife in Long Island during the previous year.

Prior to this single, Jon had released multiple singles from the FATHER FIGURE album. These singles – “WASH,” “KID AGAIN,” and “HOROSCOPE (featuring Pharrell Williams)” – have already racked up over 10 million streams.

Apart from the brand new music being released, he also co-produced Rihanna’s brand new track, “Friend of Mine,” which was covered by Billboard and released this month.

His undeniable success – among that, his Beautiful Mind Records label – is just the beginning of what is yet to come.
