The Aces are officially opening the doors to their most confident era yet.
Today, the four-piece pop powerhouse announced Gold Star Baby, their glitter-drenched, sapphic disco-pop album arriving August 15 via SoundOn. Billed as a metaphorical club you either know or you don’t, the album promises a neon-lit celebration of queerness, late-night freedom, and pure pop fun. It’s promised to be the kind of record that hits like the moment your favorite song comes on just as the bartender slides over a second round.
Alongside the album announcement, The Aces dropped new single “You Got Me,” a swooning confession of new love that builds into a breathless, synth-laced mantra: “I love you, babe.” It’s the kind of track that feels like falling: warm, shimmery, a little reckless, and fully irresistible.
“This song is about that short and sweet period of time when you realize you’re in love but you’re not sure how to tell them,” the band shared. “We wanted it to sound like the feeling of falling in love; warm, bouncy, and a little bit of nerves.”
If their 2023 album I’ve Loved You For So Long was about discovering identity, Gold Star Baby is the sound of owning it. Shedding the emotional weight of their past work, the new record leans fully into self-celebration and the magic of showing up exactly as you are—with the best outfit in the room and no apologies in sight.
Produced largely by the band themselves, the album channels the spirit of the Pussycat Dolls and the infectious swagger of early-2000s pop while keeping the intimacy and edge that’s always set The Aces apart.

The Aces are also hitting the road for a slate of festival performances this summer, including Summerfest in Milwaukee, and both All Things Go festivals in New York and D.C. Don’t be surprised if Gold Star Baby gets its own dance floor moment in the crowd.
With over 250 million streams and a track record that includes tours with COIN, 5 Seconds of Summer, and appearances at Pride and Lollapalooza, The Aces are continuing to rise not just as a band, but as cultural leaders creating space for everyone.
So dust off your best club look. Gold Star Baby is almost here.
