Lily Fitts releases debut album “Getting By” alongside headlining tour!

On June 27, 2025, indie-folk and alternative country singer Lily Fitts released her debut album Getting By and announced her headlining tour! Getting By is an album that emphasizes strength and vulnerability, and truly captures the struggles an individual might have growing up. Getting By has themes of depression, anxiety, heartbreak, and self discovery. Let’s talk about a few songs from this album!

“If listeners take anything from this album, let it be this: it’s okay to not have it all figured out, it’s okay to break, it’s okay to feel like you’re just surviving some days,” But even in the chaos, there’s still strength, there’s still beauty in being vulnerable, and there’s always a glimmer of hope that can pull you through.”Lily Fitts

I Don’t Owe You Shit” is a single that holds a person accountable for their actions and knowing self-respect because at the end of the day, no one owes anyone anything. Lily Fitt’s vocals on this single express empowerment with a tone that’s very bold and assertive, which reflects the meaning behind the lyrics. The lyrics are direct and it shows that, even when the lyrics are simple, they can hold a deep impact to the listener. I believe this song is an anthem that someone might need to be able to move forward from a toxic situation and understand their self worth.

Some Kind Of Evil” is a beautiful and polished single that’s filled with emotional resonance. I listened to this single several times. It’s warm and you can feel the fragility of Lily’s vocals throughout the single, with the gentle instrumentals that enhance her vocals to be able to express the deeper meaning of the lyrics. “Some Kind Of Evil” is an eye opener, in my opinion, because it expresses how someone you know thinks they are untouchable and that their actions are not toxic. This single is about narcissists that believe they don’t need to change.

Party’s Over” has a cinematic and moody vibe to it, giving it such an authentic and raw soundscape. This single is filled with such deep intimacy because you can sense the vulnerability in Lily’s vocals. You can sense sadness in her vocals throughout the single, but as it progresses, you understand that sometimes it’s time to move forward in life, leaving behind toxic situations.
