Jake Minch released his debut album, “George,” alongside an official music video for the new track, “Changed Things.” This music video explores the complex dynamics that occur when falling into addiction at a young age. Directed by Shannon Lyons, this video has a unique, nostalgic feel due to the warmth that shines through in each shot. The “Changed Things” video effectively portrays the story behind the album “George.”

George is about my two years in LA and my experience falling victim to my ‘middle-of-the-country-syndrome,’” says Jake. “It’s about being a martyr with nothing to die for and needing to fuck up some great things in order to see that.”

Jake produced and recorded the album in Los Angeles and Connecticut, working alongside Tony Berg, known for his work with Taylor Swift and Boygenius, as well as Mason Stoops, who has worked with artists such as Lizzy McAlpine and Role Model. George explores themes that resonate with almost every young adult, showcasing immense amounts of vulnerability. The artistry that Minch possesses at such an early stage of his career is inspiring and is evident throughout the album.

Known for his intensely raw lyricism, this album still provides a rich instrumental sound. Each song blends cohesively together while still having a couple of stand-out tracks such as “Say Uncle” and “Unicef.” With the addition of backing vocals from the talented Alix Page, this album is the definition of folk perfection.

Since releasing his first single, “handgun,” in 2023, Jake has gained support from notable artists such as Noah Kahan, Lizzy McAlpine, Gracie Abrams, Samia, Zach Bryan, and more.

Minch is gearing up to embark upon his North American Tour with stops at Brooklyn’s Baby’s All Right, Los Angeles’ Moroccan Lounge, Chicago’s Schubas Tavern, Toronto’s Velvet Underground, Nashville’s Cannery Hall, and more.
