Earlier this year, Djo – the acclaimed musical project of actor, producer, and songwriter Joe Keery – released his third studio album, The Crux. The twelve-track album took fans by surprise as Djo completely reinvented his sound, capturing both fans and critics with its distinct vision and sonic cohesion.
With the album’s breakout single, “Basic being Basic,” Djo earned his first No. 1 on U.S. Alternative Radio. Due to the success of The Crux, Djo embarked on a sold-out international tour where he gained recognition worldwide and captivated festival audiences, including a 75,000-person crowd in Chicago at Lollapalooza.
“The Crux embraces unpredictability, offering an eclectic, textured venture through Djo’s ever-expanding sonic universe.” – Dork ? ? ? ?
Clearly, the world couldn’t get enough of Djo in 2025. Throughout the week, he began teasing fans with cryptic Instagram posts and surprise single drops. “Carry The Name” on Monday, “It’s Over” on Tuesday, and “Awake” on Wednesday. On Friday, The Crux Deluxe was announced and prepared to be released at midnight.
Out now, The Crux Deluxe is a 12-track addition to The Crux, written, recorded, and produced by Keery alongside long-time collaborator Adam Thein. Recorded at the iconic Electric Lady Studios, the project preserves the lush guitars and reminiscent lyricism that defined The Crux, while expanding its depth.
Djo prepares to kick off the “Another Bite” tour this September, with festival performances at Austin City Limits, All Things Go NYC & DC, and more. All headline dates are nearly sold-out. Be sure to secure your ticket for a city near you HERE.
