Between Friends know how to JAM!

From glowing black lights illuminating the stage to the crowd dancing nonstop all night, Between Friends brought pure energy to the Crescent Ballroom in Phoenix, Arizona, on October 28.

With the Phoenix date being one of the last stops on the “WOW! tour” and the show falling on a Tuesday night, I wasn’t sure what to expect. Just a couple of steps into the venue, I saw fans dressed as past album covers, holding handmade signs, and I knew this was going to be a fun show.

The sibling duo, Savannah and Brandon Hudson, has been releasing music as Between Friends since 2017, and their live performance shows just how much they’ve grown as artists. This was easily the fullest I have ever seen Crescent Ballroom, as it was packed wall to wall.

Kicking off the night, Colombian pop artist VALÉ set the tone perfectly. Her set was full of charisma and crowd engagement, from using a megaphone to get fans singing along to slipping in a cover of “Paper Planes” by M.I.A. She was the perfect opener for this high-energy tour.

When Between Friends took the stage, they opened with “You & Me Time” from their latest album, WOW!. The song’s synths and dreamy energy created the perfect introduction, immediately pulling the audience into their world.

The setlist spanned every era of the duo’s career, giving fans a taste of old favorites and new releases. One of the night’s most memorable moments came when the crowd demanded “JAM!” two more times after it ended, and sure enough, Savannah and Brandon caved in.

This show easily ranks as one of my favorites of the year. Between Friends’ stage presence was magnetic from start to finish, and I, along with the entire crowd, was completely captivated the whole night.
