Foxlake
Foxlake, a metalcore band from Colorado, jumped on stage and set the mood for the night. There isn’t much written about Foxlake, but these guys are on the edge of taking the Metalcore scene by storm. They had the crowd jumping and hopping as they kept playing their music. I hope we get to see these guys more. They showed what Colorado has for El Paso.

Dropout Kings
Dropout Kings are from Pheonix, AZ. They are a Nu-metal / hip-hop band. They have actually been around since 2016. Adam Ramey, vocalist, and Eddy Wellz, rap artist, work the crowd seconds from hitting the stage. Their high-energy filled music and jumping had the crowd all wrapped up. The band could barely be confined by the stage. Their drummer was fantastic and he was in his early teens. He has a great future ahead of him.
These guys are worth following. They were a solid group, and truly looked like they were having fun on stage.

DED
DED is an American Nu-metal band from Arizona. Their look gives you the feeling of death and destruction, but their lyrics are about bringing hope, relief, and self-awareness, speaking to and about the young generations that are contending with the many issues in today’s society. You can tell that these guys really care about the world and what is happening on the street. I have seen a trend lately of bands that have that hard edge, but when you dig deeper, there is so much more going on in their words.
DED has two albums out now, Mis•an•thrope, released in 2017, and School of Thought, released in 2021. Mis-An-Thrope took the rock world by storm, generating over 25 million streams and making several Billboard chart appearances, including #1 on the Alternative New Artist chart and #3 on the Top New Artist Albums chart. Singles “Anti-Everything” and “Remember the Enemy” reached Top 20 at Active Rock Radio, with SiriusXM’s Octane naming DED “Artist Discovery of the Year,” and “Anti-Everything” landing in the station’s Top 10 for 2017. DED was nominated by Loudwire for Best New Artist. “Anti-Everything” also made impressive strides at streaming, appearing on Spotify, Apple Music, Amazon, and Pandora.

Butcher Babies
This being the first tour after Carla Harvey left the band, for once a band didn’t lose a member over an incident, it was purely a time for her to go in a different direction. Heidi Shepherd has taken up the reins and is kicking butt as she always does. The seasoned thrash metal/metalcore group is forming a new path. The Good Lord! The Butchers DED Tour has truly been a successful tour with two more dates before wrapping up the North America part of the tour.
Shepherd hit the stage as a powerful force, waking up the audience from her first song, “Tennesse,” to the last song, “Magnolia Blvd.” The energy was high as the crowd was dancing, moshing, and head banging. The crowd went crazy as Shepherd jumped off the stage into the pit. She walked along the benches as the crowd hugged the barricades, screaming her name.
The last album that the Butcher Babies have released was Eye For An Eye, released 2023, and, of course, “Beaver Cage” was performed about halfway through the performance, along with “Sleeping With The Enemy” from the same album. The Eye For An Eye album has proven to be a powerful album, showing a great mix of Butcher Babies‘ talent. It has been 14 years, and it really feels like they are evolving and adapting to the market, bringing their fans only the best.
