Deb Never, Indie-Artist on the Rise
In February, I was eagerly waiting to see WALLOWS in my hometown of Grand Rapids. As the openers took the stage, I was quickly impressed with their stage presence and talent. The group was led by Deb Never, an indie artist from Washington, who made sure to interact with both her band and the audience. Her music spanned from upbeat, alternative rock instrumentals to slow, melodic melodies that illuminated the venue with flashlights and lighters. The chemistry between her and her band was amazing to watch. Every instrument and member was highlighted in her music, selling me on her ability to both create and preform her art for years to come. Since then, I’ve been following Deb Never and keeping up with her new releases.
In April 2025, Deb Never released her newest single, “KNOW ME BETTER,” which further shows off her musical talent. Her vocals complimenting the smooth instrumentals, making sure listeners can appreciate what each instrument contributes to the song. It’s laid back, reminding me of a long drive home during summer. “KNOW ME BETTER” is a perfect example of Deb Never’s talents, and makes me believe she is a star on the rise. Looking at her other 2025 single, “This Alive,” it seems like she is building a complex debut album that everyone should be on the lookout for.
Deb Never is on the path to be our next indie sensation. The best way to be able to say “I knew her before she blew up!” is by adding her single “KNOW ME BETTER” into your daily rotation.
