Los Angeles-based producer, songwriter, and multi-hyphenate artist Rob Tirea continues the rollout for his forthcoming Universal Jest EP with the release of his newest single, “There You Are,” out May 30, 2025. The track expands Tirea’s signature fusion of alternative dance, rock, and indie pop, delivering a deeply introspective offering layered in dynamic textures and emotional nuance.

Opening with somber tones and introspective lyrics, “There You Are” slowly unravels into a vibrant storm of synths and rhythm, exploring the dualities of vulnerability and emotional release. Its lyrical refrain—a meditation on the beauty and absurdity of life—cements the song as a cornerstone of the Universal Jest project.

“The song captures the paradox of feeling both bewildered and oddly comforted at the realization that we are all part of this cosmic comedy,” says Tirea. “Always at the mercy of life’s absurd turns.”

This release follows the breakout success of lead single “Give Me Love Give Me Light,” which earned support from Apple Music’s Late Night Drive and New in Dance playlists, along with editorial coverage from Magnetic Magazine, This Song Is Sick, F Word, and EARMILK.

ABOUT THE UNIVERSAL JEST EP
Due out in late July 2025, Universal Jest explores personal and cosmic themes through a bold, genre-defying sound. As Tirea explains, it is “a soundtrack to life being both beautiful and equally absurd… a straight-up punch to the gut, wrapped in a smile.” Written in a creatively liberated period, the EP captures the artist’s most experimental and emotionally open work to date.

To accompany the EP, Rob will release a special live performance video filmed in a Downtown LA studio, featuring Tirea on vocals accompanied by a live string duet—Nicole Garcia and Michelle Rearick, arranged by Fine Line Music Service (whose credits include Lady Gaga, Laufey, and Danny Elfman). The session was captured by visual director Jackie Catechis, known for work with Coachella, Lightning in a Bottle, Skyline Festival, and more.
