RAEGAN shines on stage at NYC release party

Some would say that “Broadway pop” is not a typical genre for today’s music scene, but one artist has plans to change that.

On June 3, rising artist RAEGAN held a release party for her new single, “LONGING & LAMENT.” The party was hosted at The Bowery Electric in Manhattan, with free entry. She uses her theatrical past to create a scene unique to her.

RAEGAN’s music is nothing like I have heard before; as an avid Broadway fan, this was an overall treat. The stage setup alone mimicked the standard orchestra setup, impressively fitting on the small stage. She had all-female background vocalists, as well as violin, guitar, piano and drums. Their on-stage chemistry made the performance even more enjoyable. Paired with her extravagant outfit, the Broadway energy immediately overtook the venue.

RAEGAN’s experimental music style and personality filled the room the moment she stepped on stage. It is plain to see that she genuinely enjoys what she does. She expressed how freely combining her love for theater and pop music landed her in a career she has an immense passion for.

Aside from talent, the appreciation for her fans shines brightly. Asking the simple question, “Who in here is, or was, a theater kid?” riled up the crowd for the songs to come. Since some people may not be as open about their theatrical past, it allowed everyone in the room to feel comfortable knowing they were in a safe space to express their likings.

After an encore, the set concluded with the screening of her first ever co-directed music video for the new single. Fans cheered in support and then spent the rest of the night dancing and getting to know those around them.

Short and sweet and with a smile on her face, RAEGAN left her mark on New York City, laying the groundwork for her growing career.
