On August 29, 2025, punk band Excuses Excuses released their newest single “Nothing At All,” which captures the imagery through lyricism on how social media and politics control the world. “Nothing At All” is a song that expresses that it’s okay to have individuality and not fall into the grasp of what social media wants people to be like. “Nothing At All” is a punk anthem to always remember who you are and that it’s okay to be different— and to be your true authentic self.
“‘Nothing At All’ directly calls out the effects of social media on our brains and the flaws in our resulting actions as a society. Though a lot of people either don’t see it or choose not to realize it, the truth is that we have been changed by this modern way of life. I think this song sheds a much needed light on the reality of the situation.” – guitarist/vocalist Kyle C. Wilton
