The tour will celebrate Carlile’s new album, Returning To Myself, which was released on Friday, October 24, via Interscope Records/Lost Highway. This is Carlile’s eighth studio album, and her first solo project in four years. The record is a deep dive into Carlile reflecting on the past, looking inward, and returning home to herself after a long stint of musical collaborations and iconic projects. Returning To Myself was produced by Carlile, Andrew Watt, Aaron Dessner, and Justin Vernon. The album features ten songs, including “Human,” “Church & State,” “A War With Time,” and the title track. The album also features her long-time bandmates Phil and Tim Hanseroth and SistaStrings (Monique and Chauntee Ross) as well as Josh Klinghoffer, Chad Smith, Matt Chamberlain, Dave Mackay, Rob Moose, Blake Mills, Mark Isham, and Stewart Cole.
Brandi Carlile has a decorated career, being Oscar-nominated, an 11X Grammy-winning artist, 2X EMMY Award-winning composer, lyricist, and writer, No. 1 New York Times Bestselling author, and activist, who is known as one of music’s most respected voices. Carlile has released eight studio albums during her acclaimed career, including Who Believes in Angels, which is her critically acclaimed collaborative album with her childhood hero, Elton John. The album debuted at No. 1 in the U.K. and in the top 10 in the U.S. Carlile has continued her work as a renowned producer with recent Grammy-award-winning projects from Joni Mitchell and Brandy Clark. She additionally produced and recorded a rendition of Indigo Girls’ “Closer To Fine” with her wife, Catherine, which was on Barbie the Album. Her first Oscar nomination was received in the Original Song category in January 2025 for “Never Too Late,” a track written alongside Elton John, Bernie Taupin, and Andrew Watt for the Disney+ documentary of the same name, on Elton’s life and career.
Carlile is loved by her peers and has collaborated with artists such as The Highwomen, Hozier, Noah Kahan, Soundgarden, Alicia Keys, P!nk, Dolly Parton, and more. Carlile, in addition to being a musician and writer, is a founder of the Looking Out Foundation, which has raised over $8 million for grassroots causes to date. Currently, Carlile is living in rural Washington with her wife and two daughters, Evangeline and Elijah.
