Archspire announces North American “Long Roads Big Loads” tour
New album TOO FAST TO DIE arrives April 10, 2026
Extreme technical death metal leaders Archspire have announced a massive North American run in support of their forthcoming album TOO FAST TO DIE, set for release on April 10, 2026. Dubbed the “Long Roads Big Loads Tour,” the trek features support from Undeath, Crown Magnetar, and Mutilation Barbecue, and will span more than six weeks across Canada and the United States.
Tickets went on sale Friday, December 19.
The tour launches on April 24 in Calgary, Alberta, at The Palace Theatre and charges through major cities before concluding on June 6 at the Rickshaw Theatre in Vancouver, British Columbia. Along the way, fans can expect new material, a refreshed lineup, and the band’s notoriously unhinged live experience.
“We (just Oli) always wanted to call a tour ‘Long Roads Big Loads,’ and we finally decided that we’re now dumb enough to pull the trigger!” the band shares. “We’re playing a few new songs and exposing our new drummer to the world! Make sure to heckle the shit out of him! Stay Tech.”
The tour announcement follows the release of the band’s latest single, “Carrion Ladder,” which offers the first official glimpse into TOO FAST TO DIE. The track introduces drummer Spencer Moore, who joined the band in 2025 and immediately made his mark.
“I had to step my game up fast to pull off the new material,” Moore explains. “But once we started tracking, everything felt comfortable and natural.”
Recorded in 2025, TOO FAST TO DIE reunites Archspire with producer Dave Otero for the third time. The band spent several months at his Denver studio, shutting out distractions and focusing entirely on the record. The album follows the Juno Award–winning Bleed the Future and marks the band’s first fully independent release.
Rather than signing with a label, Archspire turned to crowdfunding early in the writing process. The response exceeded every expectation: nearly $400,000 CAD was raised in just thirty days, with the initial goal surpassed in under twenty-four hours.
“I was actually shaking when I pressed launch,” says guitarist Dean Lamb. “We’d never taken on something this big, and all I could think was, ‘man, I hope we don’t mess this up.’”
For vocalist Oliver Rae Aleron, the album represents both freedom and gratitude.
“Santa Claus is coming… early… directly down the chimney with a fat sack full of pre-order bundles for our fifth and most insane album yet!” Oliver says. “This is the first record we’ve ever produced as a fully independent band. We want to send out a ton of big sloppy joe kisses to everyone who believed in us and supported our Independence Day Kickstarter campaign.”
Musically, TOO FAST TO DIE continues Archspire’s relentless pursuit of extremity. Known for combining inhuman speed with razor-sharp precision, the band walks a fine line between excess and control: blistering technicality offset by hooks, melody, and moments of calculated breathing room before diving headfirst back into chaos.
“We’re like a bit of meth in your cigarette,” Oliver says of the band’s sound. “I think people don’t quite know how to describe what they’re hearing.”
Now five albums deep and operating fully independently, Archspire is entering a new chapter with momentum firmly on their side. Armed with fresh blood, a fiercely devoted fanbase, and a record designed to push their limits even further, the band shows no signs of slowing down.
