Lamb of God announce new album Into Oblivion, out March 13

Modern metal titans Lamb of God have announced their tenth studio album, Into Oblivion, set for release on March 13 via Epic Records. The record marks the band’s first full-length release in four years and finds them operating from a position of complete creative autonomy.

Rather than chasing trends or expectations, Into Oblivion embraces the band’s legacy while pushing forward with renewed intent. Across ten tracks, Lamb of God revisit the groove-driven ferocity that defined their early years, while expanding their sonic and thematic scope into darker, more deliberate territory.

To coincide with the album announcement, the band has released the title track Into Oblivion,” accompanied by a new video directed by Tom Flynn and Mike Watts. The song delivers the band’s signature aggression with psychologically charged lyrics that reflect unease, unrest, and collapse—both personal and societal.

Guitarist Mark Morton describes the album as a product of creative freedom.

“For me, the album is about having the space to breathe creatively and not feeling like we have to keep up with any trend or expectation,” Morton explains. “It feels nice to be untethered from any agenda beyond rallying around the notion of, ‘Let’s just make music that we think is cool,’ which is really where it all started.”

Vocalist Randy Blythe is more direct about the album’s title and thematic weight.

“Because that’s where we’re heading,” Blythe says candidly. “In general, the album is about the ongoing and rapid breakdown of the social contract, particularly here in America. Things are acceptable now that would’ve horrified people just twenty years ago.”

In the lead-up to the announcement, Lamb of God released two singles that previewed the album’s range. “Sepsis,” their first new song since 2022, nodded to the early 1990s Richmond underground that shaped the band’s foundation. Consequence praised the track’s approach, noting that Morton’s riffs are “bruising at this slower pace,” while Blythe “bellows like a heavy metal Nick Cave.” That was followed by “Parasocial Christ,” a concise, three-minute assault that Revolver labeled an “anti-tech thrasher.”

Into Oblivion was produced and mixed by longtime collaborator Josh Wilbur and recorded across locations deeply tied to the band’s identity. Drums were tracked in Richmond, Virginia; guitars and bass were recorded at Morton’s home studio; and Blythe laid down vocals at the legendary Total Access studio in Redondo Beach, California—known for its role in punk history with artists like Black Flag, Hüsker Dü, and Descendents.

Album pre-orders are available now, including multiple limited-edition vinyl variants and signed copies. An unannounced first pressing briefly appeared on the band’s website earlier this week and sold out almost immediately.
