Perfectionism, according to Simply Psychology, is “the tendency to set unrealistically high standards for yourself or others, where self-worth feels tied to flawless performance, and mistakes are seen as failures rather than opportunities to learn.” For some, perfectionism comes naturally. For others, it rarely comes in their life. For ALLEYCVT, it’s adopted from her father, according to EDM.com. People who know her often tell her to be happy with her art, or even to relax her expectations.
When it comes to art, it’s very common not to fall into that trap of perfectionism, now more than ever, with intense competition wherever you look. Also, especially nowadays, it’s important to have solid support around you, too.
“It’s always the people who are like, ‘Yo, chill! You’re fine. Nothing bad is going to happen. It’ll be fine. Stop overthinking it.’ It’s easier said than done. It’s the people I keep around me that help me with that the most, rather than myself.” – ALLEYCVT (EDM.com)

However, I would argue that sometimes an ounce of perfectionism is entirely necessary. ALLEYCVT provides us with the perfect mix of unpredictability and flow in her music as one of the most exciting upcoming musicians in the EDM/dubstep industry. The energy she brings to the stage and to her music is impeccable and utterly contagious.
Above all else, I spent a good amount of time with her fans before and during the show and was smiling ear-to-ear with all of them, who were some of the nicest people I’ve met in Boston. I must’ve gotten seven to eight souvenirs from that concert, and even a friendship bracelet given to me in a typical ALLEYCVT way — the way only her fans would know.
My parents gave me the tickets to this concert, and TCC gave me the chance to photograph it… But I never knew just how incredible this experience would be!

I wanted to take a moment to shout out the absolutely lovely fans I met, especially @jacckxo and @melody_tattoo on Instagram. That night at Royale Boston, you guys made me feel so incredibly comfortable in the pit as the only independent photographer there. I also wanted to give a shout-out to Trick Shot Management for this amazing opportunity, too. I hope to work with them more in the future! If you ever get a chance to see ALLEYCVT near you, do it! It is worth it!
