Sublime signs with Atlantic Records ahead of new album

Legendary Southern California band Sublime has signed with Atlantic Records as the group prepares to release its first full-length album with Jakob Nowell as frontman, set for release later this year.

The signing follows a successful independent run for the band. Their single “Feel Like That,” created with Stick Figure, spent eight consecutive weeks in the Top 10 on Billboard’s Alternative Airplay chart. The follow up single “Ensenada,” released through Sublime Recordings and Jakob Nowell’s SVNBVRNT venture, reached No. 1 on the Alternative Airplay chart for eight weeks, becoming the longest-running Alternative radio hit of 2025 and surpassing the band’s previous record set by “What I Got.

Marketing and radio promotion for the release were led by Regime Music Group, with co-managers Joe Escalante and Kevin Zinger helping guide the campaign while allowing the band to maintain ownership of their masters.

Formed in Long Beach, California, in 1988 by Eric Wilson, Bud Gaugh, and Bradley Nowell, Sublime became one of the most influential bands of the ’90s alternative era. Their 1996 self-titled album went five-times platinum and featured enduring hits including “Santeria,” “Wrong Way,” and “What I Got.” A new chapter began in 2023 when Jakob Nowell joined Wilson and Gaugh onstage, leading to a full reunion and widely praised performances at Coachella in 2024.

In 2026, Sublime will celebrate the 30th anniversary of their self-titled album with two special shows at Red Rocks Amphitheatre on April 17–18, kicking off a year-long celebration. The band will also launch its new touring festival, Sublime Me Gusta, beginning May 9, alongside the release of their highly anticipated new album.

The partnership with Atlantic Records marks the next phase for Sublime, combining the band’s independent success with the global reach of one of the industry’s leading labels.
