EMF’s unforgettable revival

EMF

The iconic British band EMF is making its highly anticipated return to the U.S. with an East Coast tour this May. Celebrating 25 years since the release of their groundbreaking album Schubert Dip, EMF promises to deliver an unforgettable experience! Kicking off on May 7 at Philadelphia’s Nikki Lopez, the 10-date tour will make stops in cities that played a vital role in shaping their legacy, including Buffalo, Montreal, Boston, New York City, and finally concluding in Hamden, Connecticut, on May 16.

For those familiar with the band’s rise to fame, the name EMF resonates with the unforgettable hit “Unbelievable,” a track that skyrocketed them to global acclaim in the ’90s, topping charts and capturing the hearts of music lovers everywhere. “We have so many great memories of being in the U.S. in the ‘90s when ‘Unbelievable’ was shooting up the Billboard Hot 100, where it reached No. 1,” shares frontman James Atkin. Fans can look forward to hearing that beloved anthem among other classics from Schubert Dip such as “Lies,” “I Believe,” and “Children.”

The band isn’t just revisiting their past; they’ll also be showcasing material from their latest album, The Beauty and the Chaos (2024), and their upcoming EP, “Reach for Something Higher” (2025). As Atkin reminisces about the band’s recent journey, he notes, “Talking of crazy times, landing in all the beauty and the chaos of the U.S. in June 2025 inspired us to write ‘Hands in the Air’ and ‘LGBTQ+ Lover.’” This mix of old and new is sure to thrill dedicated fans and newcomers alike.

Formed in 1989 in the town of Cinderford, England, EMF made waves with their unique fusion of dance, rock, and pop sounds. Their debut album not only captured their raw energy but also helped solidify their place in music history. Following their initial success, EMF continued to evolve, experimenting with their sound in albums like Stigma (1992) and Cha Cha Cha (1995) before taking a hiatus. However, after giving their fans a taste of their creativity with the 2022 album Go Go Sapiens, they once again proved that their music remains intact.

EMF looks forward to reconnecting with its audience across the East Coast. Fans can expect the same joy and energy that have characterized their live performances for decades. With members James Atkin, Ian Dench, Derry Brownson, Stevey Marsh, and Aid Todd, EMF’s live shows are a captivating experience of “glorious madness,” as they strive to create memories together with their fans once again.
